Welcome, Homeschool Families!

I'm honored to partner with homeschool families who value creativity, discipline, and joyful learning.

My lessons are designed to fit seamlessly into your homeschool rhythm—offering flexible daytime scheduling, enrichment certificate billing options, and a nurturing environment where every child’s potential is celebrated.

Through the Suzuki philosophy, students learn to play the piano just as they learn to speak—by listening, imitating, and practicing with loving support from their parents.

I believe every child can learn beautifully when surrounded by encouragement, consistency, and music that inspires them.

Whether your student is beginning their first notes or preparing for a recital performance, you’ll find this page full of helpful information about our lesson options, practice tips, studio expectations, and resources created especially for homeschoolers.

Welcome to a place where your child can grow in confidence, musicianship, and joy—one beautiful note at a time. 🎵

Enrollment & Getting Started

  • Complete the Registration Form

Fill out our online registration form with your family’s information, your child’s age, and your homeschool program or charter school.

  • Review and Sign the Studio Agreement

Once your registration is received, you’ll receive the current Studio Policies and Agreement via Email to review and sign digitally. This ensures that all families understand studio expectations, scheduling, and safety guidelines.

  • Confirm Your Lesson Time

Amanda will contact you directly to schedule your weekly lesson time. Homeschool families receive priority access to daytime slots (9:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m.), which are perfect for focused learning and quieter studio hours.

  • Charter School Families

If you’re using enrichment, request your certificates after your lesson time is confirmed.

Materials You’ll Need

To ensure your student starts strong, please have the following ready before your first lesson:

  • Instrument: A well-tuned acoustic piano or a full-size 88-key digital piano with weighted keys.

  • Binder with clear plastic sheet covers

  • A lined lesson notebook or binder for parent notes

  • Other Supplies: after your first lesson, an amazon link with the required books will be sent.

  • Pencil and highlighter

  • At home: Adjustable piano bench and footstool (for younger students)

  • Recommended Piano Technicians:

  • Ralph Miyashiro - (858) 740 - 1202
    Mihee Lee – (858) 805-1550
If you have an acoustic piano, please make sure it’s tuned and all pedals are working before starting lessons.

Before Your First Lesson Checklist

To make the first day smooth and successful, please review the following:

✅ Trim your child’s fingernails (short nails help proper hand position).
✅ Ensure your piano or keyboard is clean and ready to use.
✅ Have all lesson materials (binder, notebook, pencil) ready in one place.
✅ Avoid screen time or video games at least one hour before the lesson for better focus

✅ Parents, please plan to attend the full lesson if your child is 3–12 years old. If parent cannot stay due to other children, you may wait in your car and observe the lesson via ZOOM.
✅ Bring a water bottle (no snacks or other drinks, please).
✅ Arrive on time and wait quietly outside if another lesson is still in progress. Your teacher will greet you when it’s time to begin—there’s no need to ring the doorbell since lessons may be in session. You’re welcome to wait comfortably in the porch area until your turn.

A Note from Miss Amanda

“Each student who walks through my  studio doors is treated as part of our musical family.

My goal is to help every child discover their natural ability through patient guidance, joyful repetition, and meaningful progress.

I can’t wait to begin this musical journey with you!”
